Date of Interment: 04/11/1967∼Son of P. J. and Mary (Harrington) O'Brien, who were both from County Cork, Ireland, immigrating to America in 1856. P. J. was a miner and lost his life in the C & H Mine in 1890. Michael graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Larium and became an office boy at the "Calumet News", worked at the local post office for a while, and later formed an insurance company called Webb & O'Brien. In 1904 he was appointed district manager for the Wisconsin & Northern Michigan Insurance Co. In 1903 he married Miss Nellie V. Harrington and they had five children.
