After completing his bachelor of science degree at Boston College in 1959, the future Paulist earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1965 at St. Paul's College in Washington, D.C., where he also earned a master's degree in theology in 1968. Rev. Mr. Boudreau also received a diploma in behavioral sciences from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont., in 1973 and master's degree in education in 1978 from the University of Toronto.
Rev. Mr. Boudreau made his first promise with the Paulist Fathers on Sept. 8, 1963, and was ordained a deacon on June 2, 1967 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
Deacon Boudreau's first assignment was at the Catholic Information Centre in Toronto from 1968-74. He then served at the Addiction Research Foundation in Ontario from 1975-2002. He entered senior ministry in 2002, and resided at St. Peter's parish in Toronto until his death on March 6, 2014, at the age of 77. He had been a member of the Missionary Society of Saint Paul the Apostle (The Paulist Fathers) for 50 years.
A funeral Mass for Deacon Boudreau was offered on March 17, 2014. Interment took place in the Boudreau family plot in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford, Maine.
