Born 6 December 1916, in Clymer, Tioga [sic-Indiana County,PA] County, she was the daughter of Herbert James[sic-James Herbert] Adams and Bertha M. Moore.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kane and the ladies missionary society of the church. She also belonged to the Order of Eastern Star 165, Order of Amaranth 119, the American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 294 and the Senior Citizens Center, all in Kane. She was a volunteer at the Kane Lutheran Home and a life member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary.
In 1982, she retired from the McCrory’s Store in Kane after 32 years. She previously had worked at the Silk Mill in Kane.
Nioma[sic-Naomi] Tunall, 84, of Kane, McKean County, died Sunday at Kane Community Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters:-
~ Donna Berlin of Butler;
~ Gloria Smith of Ligonier;
a son:-
~ Carl W. “Bill” Tunall Jr. of Kane.
[She was also survived by] 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
[And also by her] sister:-
~ Mildred Nimmo of Clymer;
Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Her husband, Carl W. “Bill” Tunall, whom she married on 1 August 1936, in Frewsburg, New York, preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
TUNALL — Friends of Nioma Tunall, who died Sunday,1 April 2001, will be received... Thursday at CUMMINGS FUNERAL HOME, 151 Greeves Street in Kane. Services will at the funeral home. The Rev. Rodney Smith, her church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at Marion Center Memorial Association, Indiana County. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church or to Kane Community Hospital.
