Lawrence H. Bell, 78, of Toms River, N.J., and formerly of Nutley NJ, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at his home.

The funeral is from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St, Nutley, on Thursday at 9:30 AM (www.swbrownandson.com). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley, at 10:30 AM, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Born in Newark, he lived in Nutley before moving to Toms River 14 years ago.

Mr. Bell was a supervisor with the North Jersey Water Commission before retiring, and had previously been a member of the Teamsters while employed with P. Falduti & Sons in Newark.

Larry was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post 105 in Belleville, N.J., and VFW Post 493 in Nutley, and also served as a member and captain of the Nutley Auxiliary Police.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol (nee Marrone) Bell; his children, Larry Bell, Robert Bell and his wife, Sharon, Sandra Slater and her husband, Paul; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He also leaves his brothers, John and Robert Bell; his sisters, Margaret Castimore and Josephine Shakarian, and was predeceased by his brother, Garry Bell, and his sisters, Elaine Baldassare and Patty Perine.
