Last rites for Otto H. Momsen, 73, were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and 2 o'clock from the Methodist church. Rev. Joseph Williams, pastor of the Gladbrook, Iowa Church of God was in charge of the services assisted by Dr. Wm. Baddeley, local Methodist minister.

Mr. Momsen passed away peacefully at his home Saturday morning, October 14th after being afflicted with poor health for the past 15 years.

Casket bearers were Henry Sauer, C.C. Lille, Will Peters, Ole Hoeg, Herman Klindt and Harvey Wilson.

A quartet, Mrs. Wyatt Hartman, Mrs. W.K. Hunter, E.A. Swanson and Ben Canady, sang "The Old Rugged Cross", "In The Garden" and "Abide With Me". They were accompanied by Mrs. Hester Buihner at the piano.

Interment was made in Ferguson cemetery with Olerich Co. in charge of arrangements.

Otto H. Momsen, son of Chris H. and Catherine Momsen, was born at Robsted, Schleswig, Denmark, May 9th, 1871. At the age of 17 he came with his father and the other children to America, his mother having passed away. They settled at Dwight, Illinois. Seven years later he came to Sac county, Iowa, working on farms until his marriage to Helene Jacobsen at Wall Lake, February 21, 1896. They lived near Lake View all of their married life and retired in 1930 when they moved to Lake View from their farm north of town.

He has been in poor health for the past fifteen years but never was entirely helpless. He never complained of his affliction, but was always cheerful though unable to talk much with his friends. Death came to him quietly October 14th, 1944 in his 74th year.

The deceased is survived by his widow and four children - Mrs. Christine Klindt of Sioux Rapids, Hildred C. at home, Mrs. Therese Hoeg and Chris, both of Lake View and eight grandchildren; three brothers, Chris of Lake View, Max of Manhattan, Illinois and Lawrence of Wilmington, Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Nelson of Lake View, Mrs. John Knudtden of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Mrs. George Haas of Chicago and a number of nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and a sister Margretta Jacobsen of Lake View.

He was reared under Christian teaching from childhood, and followed the Christian way faithfully all of his life.

Mr. Momsen was a good husband and father, always providing liberally for his family and never losing sight of his responsibility to his community, and always ready to extend a helping hand when needed, He was a good neighbor and an industrious farmer.
