Coal Township – Cecilia E. Gaughan, 91, a resident of Mountain View a Nursing & Rehab Center formerly of Mount Carmel passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Born January 29, 1923 in Mount Carmel, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Honora (Dzwilewski) Suchocki. She formerly resided in Kulpmont before moving to Mount Carmel.
She was educated in Our Mother of Consolation School, Mount Carmel. She worked in Kanmack Mills, Kulpmont; Danville Manufacturing and Miss Fashion, Mount Carmel before her retirement.
She was married in 1962 to Philip J. Gaughan who died on October 2, 1978. She was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Mount Carmel.
She was the last of her siblings and was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Kimsal, Jean Pekarick and Florence Kent; three brothers, Leo, John and Edward "Skippy" Suchocki.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and George Kroutch of Mount Carmel and two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Carole Krehel of Mount Carmel and Michael and Sandra Krehel of Northumberland; a niece who lived with her Rochelle Kent Bereski, and four grandchildren, Bryant Kroutch of Olathe, Kansas, Kevin Kroutch of Hummelstown, PA; Alexa Stoner of Mercersburg, PA; and Shawn Krehel of Mount Carmel; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
