Born in Denton, Texas, he was the youngest student to ever be accepted by the American Conservatory in San Francisco, California. He also made television guest appearances in "The Waltons", and "Eight Is Enough". His film credits include "Chameleons" (1989), "Seedpeople" (1992) and "Asteroid" (1997). He was married twice, first to actress and "Santa Barbara" co-star Robin Wright from 1986 to 1988, and Tracy Shaffer from 1988 until 2011. He died at the age of 56.
