The 1930 census shows Virgil (age 30) living at 58th & Spaulding Streets in Benson, Douglas County, Nebraska with his wife Mae E. (age 29). Virgil's occupation was Painter for a Real Estate Company.

The 1940 census shows Virgil (age 41), his wife Mae (age 40) and son Donald L. (age 6) living at 5806 Spaulding Street in West Benson, Douglas County, Nebraska. Virgil's occupation was Painter for a Real Estate Company.

Virgil died May 18, 1949 at the age of 49. Cemetery records show in 1967 his niece Thelma (Booth) Pane purchased the marker to be placed on his grave at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. Thelma is his brother Earl’s daughter.
