Jana was born in North Carolina, a daughter of Jimmy and Vicki Capps.
Jana persevered through many personal obstacles, finding release by expressing herself in her artwork. Even through her own pain and heartache, she cared for and loved others. She leaves her family with precious memories that they will cling to as they grieve. They rejoice that her pain and sadness are no more. She has peace in the arms of the Lord.
Survivors include her father, Jimmy Durante Capps and mother, Vicki Faye Capps of Mount Pleasant, two sisters, Angela Dawn Brummer of Hillsborough, and Felicia Diane Martin of Locust, maternal grandparents, Rev. Lonnie and Goldie Marie Graves of Durham, nieces and nephews, Greyson and Rylan Brummer, and Amelia, Stephen, Thomas, and Titus Martin.
A graveside service was held on April 4, 2014 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham, North Carolina, officiated by Rev. Tim Williamson.
