James Patrick St. GERMAIN
September 19, 1947 - December 16, 2005 Jim St. Germain passed away on Friday afternoon, December 16th after a long struggle with cancer. A native of Seattle, Jim was born to Virginia and Robert St. Germain. He grew up on Queen Anne Hill, attending St. Anne's Parish and school. Jim graduated from Seattle Prep in 1965, attended the University of Washington and graduated from Carroll College in Helena Montana with an accounting degree. After graduation, he joined the Peace Corps, serving in Afghanistan before returning home to Seattle where he began a 33 year career in the Seattle Community Colleges. He began his employment in the Registrar's Office at the North Campus. Within a short time he joined the Administration Services Offices, eventually becoming the Director of Administration Services. In 1994 Jim assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer. While working in this capacity he earned his MBA degree and taught classes at Seattle University before his retirement in December of 2004. Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda Lorentzen; his daughter, Katherine Lee; his father, Robert St. Germain; his sisters, Carol and Susan St. Germain, and Mary Kay Hensel (Bob); and numerous nieces and nephews. Those of us lucky enough to know and love Jim will miss him, but he will live on through his family and friends and all those, whose lives he's touched. A Vigil Service will be held Monday, December 19th at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 20th, at 11 a.m., also at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
