He was born April 17, 1914 in Tabiona, Utah to William and Margaret Ellen Clegg Ivie. He married Sylvia Hadden April 7, 1948 in Evanston, WY. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Sylvia preceded him in death March 1, 1997. Hans is survived by his children: Dennis Ivie of St. George; Kathleen (Val) Richards of Salem, UT; William T. (Susan) Ivie of Las Vegas; Jerry E. (Debbie) Ivie of Morgan Hill, CA; Nancy R. Ivie of Hurricane; 20 grandchildren, including three special granddaughters whom he helped raise: Amy (Vincent) Benedict of St. George; Cindy (Eric) LeBaron and Kristen (Brian) Brown, both of Cedar City; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, LuPriel Cheney of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth B. Price; five brothers, Herbert, Alfred, Carl, Cloyd and Dean; and two sisters, Grace and Genevieve.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at 12 noon at the Hurricane LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 274 So. 100 West. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m at the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 2600 W. State Street in Hurricane, and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 635-2454.
