Carye Hamilton, 99, of Hawarden
died Tuesday, July 24,1984, in a care
center at Hawarden.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday,
July 27, in the Associated Church in
Hawarden. The Rev. Fredrich
Mellberg officiated. Burial was in
Grace Hill Cemetery 'under direction
of Dow Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Richard Williams,
Eddie Williams, Kevin Schneider,
Wendell Schneider, Jack Richter and
Richard Richter.
Mrs. Hamilton, the former Carye
Smith, was born July 17, 1885, in
Union County, SD. She graduated
from Hawarden High School and
taught in the Scott School. She
married James W. Hamilton March
12, 1913, at Hawarden. He died May
8, 1940, and she moved into town in
1943.
She was a member of the
Associated Church and was a past
member of Progressive Club, Sewing
Circle and Womens Fellowship of the
church.
Survivors include nieces and
nephews.
