Born in Mt. Vernon, the son of the late Warren and Mildred (Cline) Hyatt, he was a 1971 graduate of West Holmes High School and a continual student of life's lessons.
With seven siblings, David learned early to play well with others. As a licensed CNA, David was a compassionate caregiver who endeared himself to all he encountered. He loved working with his hands, was a gifted pianist and mastered the needlecraft arts.
He was survived by his partner of 19 years, Robert B. Kenny of Fountain Hills, Arizona; brother, Richard (Sharon) Hyatt of Killbuck; sisters, Valerie (Lester) Leckrone of Loudonville, Gayle Elliott of Danville, Joyce (Kerry) Patterson of Baltic, Cynthia Dalton and Lois (Rick) Pace, both of Loudonville; and brother-in-law, Russell Akins of Loudonville, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; sister, Kathryn Akins; brothers-in-law, Daniel Elliott and Lonnie Dalton; and his nephew, Edward Buren.
Private services will be held in Arizona and Ohio. In lieu of flowers, David requested that memorial contributions be made to a no-kill animal shelter.
