Mary Louise Aldridge, 82, of Cannelton passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, in Newburgh, IN.

Mary Lou was born in Rising Sun,IN May 24, 1930, daughter of the late Charles F. Mattingly and Eva (Anderson) Mattingly.

Mary Lou was a 1948 graduate of Cannelton High School and Lockyear Business College in Evansville. She was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary at Cannelton Sewer Pipe Company and retired from Myers Grade School where she worked as an aide and secretary.

Mary Lou was joined in marriage to Robert Aldridge March 31, 1951 at St Michael's Catholic Church, Cannelton, Perry, IN.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the St. Ann Society. She was a former member and treasurer of the Woman's Travel Club. She enjoyed gardening, reading and being with her family.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Aldridge in 1990; a brother, Lawrence Mattingly and a grandson, Nathan Michael Aldridge.

Mary Lou is survived by her four daughters, Mrs. Michael Aldridge (Patti) of Cynthiana, Ky., Mary Lisa Bennett of Newburgh, Sara Aldridge of Cannelton and Gina Aldridge of Columbus, IN; a son, Chris Aldridge (& wife Lisa) of Lewisport, Ky.; her grandchildren, Mandy Switzer, Meghan Boland, Geoff Bennett, Mary Kate Hurt, Jake Bennett, Leah Ball, Nick Litherland, Zach Aldridge, Matt Aldridge and Adam Lockhart; her great-grandchildren, Hayden and Riley Switzer, Ian and Cecilia Boland, Hank and Lucy Bennett, Nate, Ethan, Lyla and Lincoln Hurt, Belle and Sam Ball and Sophia Litherland; a brother, Charles "Buck" Mattingly (Joyce) of Chandler and a sister-in-law, Sarah Jean Cabage of Lawrenceville, Ga.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at St. Michael Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Sengole Thomas G. will officiate.

Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Restoration Fund.
