She Was Daughter of Man Once Prominent in State Affairs - Funeral Service Last Night.
Funeral services were held at 7 o'clock last evening at Vincentown, over the body of Miss Mary Isabella Howey, who, until her death Thursday, was the only surviving child of the late Benjamin F. Howey. To the older generation interested in State Matters, Benjamin F. Howey will be remembered as a member of Congress, and in 1886 the Republican candidate for Governor, his Democratic opponent, Robert S. Green, having been elected.
Mr. Howey died a few years after his defeat. His family later removed from Warren county to Vincentown, where they occupied a plantation near the village. With the death of a daughter, Miss Anna, which occurred about a year ago, and the recent death of the remaining daughter, one the widow, who was Miss Martha Evans of Delaware Water Gap, survives.
The interment of Miss Howey was made in Swedesboro today.
