The deceased was born January 24, 1901, in Olney, son of the late Carl and Sadie Miller Gissler. His parents moved from Olney to Lincoln about 1921. His father operated a meat market on North Walnut street for a
number of years.
Mr. Gissler was employed by the Caterpillar Tractor Co. at Morton. Prior to that time, he operated an ice cream business at Lincoln.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, the IOOF and Rebekah Lodges, all of Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, the former Irma Auer, to whom he was married at Lincoln on December 18, 1926; a son, S-Sgt. Davis P., AFB in California; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Nellie) Jones of South Gate, California; and three
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Fricke Funeral Home at Lincoln with burial in Union Cemetery, Lincoln. IOOF Lodge memorial services will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. today.
