MCKINNEY, Ben A. Age 81, of St. Clair Township passed away in Garden Manor Village on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 4:30 a.m. He was born in Hellier, Kentucky on January 10, 1924 the son of Anthony and Frona (Rowe) McKinney. Ben was a veteran of WWII with the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and the United States Army from 1946 to 1950 and a member of the VFW Post #7670. He was employed as a brakeman for the B & O Railroad and then was employed as a plumber for Modern Plumbing, retiring in 1973. On January 8, 1962 in Greenup, Kentucky he was married to Ruth Rand and she preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by four daughters, Carolin Frazee of Hamilton, Ellen Buchanan of Eaton, Donna (Doyle) Haynes of Hamilton and Reatheal (Jim) Vosberg of Hamilton; one brother, Harry McKinney of Louisa, Kentucky; three sisters, Veloise McKinney of New Albany, Ohio, Bernice (Jerry Lee) Fitch of Louisa, Kentucky and Phyllis Pinson of Louisa, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Pete, Gordon, Andrea, Russell, Jeff and Brian and seven great-grandchildren, Derek, Brittany, Josh, Lawton, Tyler, Lane and Luke and four step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren and also two grand dogs, Podi and Missy. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Demphus Lewis; one daughter, Adora Jean Lewis; two brothers, Denver and Denton McKinney and one sister, Reatheal McKinney-Layne. Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ben Eagle of the Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to the Garden Manor Memorial Bench, % of Chris Beeman, 6898 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Middletown, Ohio 45044. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to his friends and the girls on northeast at Garden Manor for their loving care and concern.
