Zimiri C. Beason was the fourth child of Nathan and Melinda (Dixon) Beason. Zimiri was nine years old when his father was captured in Dallas County Missouri and killed by guerrillas on 22 April 1863 in Cedar County, Missouri during the Civil War.

He married Bessie but her last name is unknown. They had two children William and Bessie. Bessie died in 1882 and Zimiri died in 1883. Zimiri's sister Nancy (Beason) Walker reared William and his brother James reared Bessie.
