Obit: Joseph Harrison Eads of Marshall died Nov. 3 in an Asheville hospital. He was 85. A native of Harlan, Ky., he was the son of the late Simon and Ina Lee Prows Eads. He was a retired manager of Marshall's A & P Food Store and the owner of Joe's Antiques in Marshall. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Marshall, where he was a teacher, past Sunday school director, and deacon. He was a Mason of French Broad Lodge No. 292, Boy Scout Leader, member of the Lions Club, and American Red Cross. He was a former writer for the Asheville Citizen. Services were held Sunday at First Baptist Church in Marshall. Burial was in Davis Chrisman Cemetery, Marshall.
