Mrs. Nannie Blanche Gilbert Bryant, widow of Richard J. Bryant, of Hampstead, N.C., died Tuesday, February 19, 1991, in Cape Fear Memorial Hospital. She was born in High Point, N.C., on October 20, 1901, the daughter of the late Abram anderson and Esther Naomi McCorkle Gilbert. Mrs. Bryant was a member and very active in the Women's Work and Sunday School of Hampstead Baptist Church. She also taught Sunday School for many years in Topsail Presbyterian Church, where her late husband was a member. Mrs. Bryant wwas a substitute teacher in the Topsail School. Surviving are her brother, Charles W. Gilbert of Charlotte, N.C.; her son, Richard J. Bryant, II of Hampstead, N.C.; three grandchildren, Richard J. Bryant, III of Wilmongton, Ms. Adrianne Bryant of Hampstead and Lenora Flick of Hampstead; two great-grandchildren, Nicole and Amanda Flick; several nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Mrs. Bert (Merle) Lea and Mrs. Elbert (Joyce) Costin.
