Mr. Wing was a 1962 graduate of Caribou High School and served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the signal corps. He married Lois Brown June 24, 1967. Mr. Wing was employed as a loan and trust officer at Aroostook Trust Company for many years and following his retirement from banking he worked as the sporting goods manager at the Presque Isle Wal-Mart. He was a member of Caribou United Baptist Church. Dick was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time with his family and friends fishing and hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife of over 46 years, Lois of Caribou, are his son and daughter-in-law, Richard Wing II and Stephanie of Mapleton; his three daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Andrew Wilcox of Scottsville, N.Y., Deborah and Gregory Smith of Portland and Adriana and Dale McCarty of Fort Fairfield; two brothers, Ronald Wing of Presque Isle and Randy Wing of St Albans; nine special grandchildren, whom Dick adored; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Caribou United Baptist Church, with Pastor Troy Heald and the Rev. John Kiehn, officiating. Following the service all are invited to visit with the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments at the church hall. Friends who wish to contribute in Mr. Wing's memory may do so through Caribou United Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
