Little is known about Burdine Young, Sr. except he was born about 1800 in Tennessee and died shortly before November 1858 in Fentress Co., Tennessee.
It is believed he was a son of Jerusha (Patrick) and John Young (c.1769-1826). He married Susanna (Crouch) Smith about 1830 - 1832. She was 1st married to Jesse Bowen Smith. After Burdine's death his widow relocated to Monroe Co., Kentucky with their children.
At least two of the children of Burdine and Susanna are buried in the Gee Cemetery in Monroe Co., Kentucky.
