Mr. Greenfield was the chief executive or director of eighteen companies and chairman or active participant in sixty-one commissions, committees, chambers or celebrations. As chairman of the City Planning Commission, he played a major role in the redevelopment of the city including Society Hill.
Mr. Greenfield was also the recipient of twenty-nine honorary awards, one of which was the National Urban League Award for "leadership and support of democratic programs over a long period of years." Albert M. Greenfield died in 1967 at the age of 79.
