John Andrew Tippen, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. He fought his battle with Leukemia with God's help and is now in Heaven.

John was born November 24, 1938 in Parma, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Butler County Highway Department. He was a Christian man and attended Little Brown General Baptist Church.

On October 15, 1960, he married Barbara Gillihan. She survives.

They have two children; a son, John Alan Tippen of Puxico and a daughter, Bonnie Aldridge and husband, Rod, of Qulin; three grandchildren, Jessica Spencer and husband, Lee, of Poplar Bluff, Joshua and Hunter Aldridge both of Qulin.

He is also survived by his mother, Helen Hufstedler of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Joyce Huggins of Corning, Ar., and Lois Orr of Norman, Ok.; three brothers, Tom Tippen of Poplar Bluff, David Tippen of Wappappello and Danny Tippen of Dexter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Tippen and sister, Carol Adams.

Burial in the Mo. Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with full military honors.
