Former Ziegfeld girl. Born Dorothy Deborah Wegman in New York she was pushed on stage by her mother after the death of her father in 1919. She joined Florenz Ziegfeld Follies in 1920. Starred in The Passing Show in 1921, one of the most spectacular shows to date. She later performed in the shows Big Boy and Rio Rita. She retired after being persuaded by husband Samson Raphaelson and wrote two novels; Glorified in 1930 and Morning Song in 1948. Her death leaves only one Ziegfeld girl; 101 year old Doris Eaton Travis.
