Amos E. Evans, seventy-four years old, died Wednesday at his home on Spring street following a two weeks' illness. He was born in Scott Valley, California, and resided in Susanville for twenty years. Surviving are his wife, Martha Evans; two daughters and one son, Mrs. Viola Acord of Oroville; Mrs. Pauline Proctor, Lakeview, Ore., and Thomas Evans, Susanville; a brother, Frank Evans of Fort Jones, Calif, and two sisters, Mrs. Etta M. Stone of Memphis, Mo., and Mrs. Agnes Otto, Eden Idaho. Funeral services were conducted at the Morrill-Hornshuh chapel, Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, the Rev. E. L. Spaulding officiating. Interment was in the Lassen cemetery.
