Lillian I. Barnhart, 85, formerly of Cattail Road, died 7:10 a.m.Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. She was born April 22, 1918, in Ross County, to the late William and Marie Evans Smith. On December 14, 1935, she married James Oscar Barnhart, who died December 31, 1993. Surviving are children, Mary (William) Payne, of Chillicothe, James (Pat)Barnhart, of Tool, TX, Vivian (Herbert) Rider, of Xenia, David (Nayoma)Barnhart, of Columbus, Charles (Judy) Barnhart, of Sabina and William Barnhart and his fiancâee, Brenda Bryan, both of Chillicothe; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; brother, William Smith; sisters, Mary E. Smith and Marcella Garrett, all of Chillicothe; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Jean Rantz; a son, Gary A.Barnhart; an infant daughter;brothers, Robert and Paul Smith; two infant brothers; brother-in-law,Wade Garrett; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Smith. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 9,
2004, in Ware FuneralHome with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
