A resident of Donaldsonville for many years and well known here, died suddenly at the home of his son, Sidney Acosta, of Donaldsonville on Wednesday of this week. The funeral took place from the residence of his son Sidney, with whom he resided. Services were held at the Ascension Catholic Church in Donaldsonville and interment in the Catholic cemetery. The deceased was a parish jailer and Deputy Sheriff for more then 40 years until about two years ago, he retired. He was succeeded by his son Willie Acosta and survived by a son, Lucien Acosta Jr. of New Orleans.
