RAYMOND R. BECKETT, 83, of Huntington, W.Va., left this life and took Jesus' hand on October 7, 2008. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2008, at the Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church, Huntington, by Pastor Phillip Warren and Rev. Gary Beckett. Entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. Raymond was born October 1, 1925, in Milton, W.Va., to the late Ernest and Ella Mae Venoy Beckett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Raymond retired from Appalachian Power Company after 39 years, and is a member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Juanita Tomblin Beckett; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Susie Beckett; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Dewey Blake and Debbie Maxey and John Rickman; and a brother and sister, Violet and Junior. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington.
