November 1, 1907

John Bruce died Monday morning at his home in depot town. He had been working for Hoover & Noyes for some time, and the family was up early so that he could come to town to begin his labors. His son who was sleeping with the father, discovered something wrong with his breathing, and called to his mother, who came at once, and did what could be done aw well as she could, and dispatched a messenger at once for a physician. When the doctor arrived, Mr. Bruce was dead, never having regained consciousness, as far as known, since he went to sleep the night before. The doctor pronounced the cause of his death heart failure. He leaves a widow and a number of children, all of whom have the sympathy of their neighbors and friends in the sad loss.
