Aaron Sherman Cordell
Aaron Sherman Cordell of Quitman died Saturday morning, August 30, at St. Francis Hospital, Maryville, where he had been a patient for two weeks following a stroke. Mrs. and Mrs. Cordell had purchased a modern home in Skidmore several weeks ago and were planning to make their home here.
Funeral services were held at the Quitman Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. Wm. Thompson. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Quitman.
Aaron Sherman Cordell was born July 16, 1864 on the farm where he spent his entire life, with the exception of a few years spent in Washington state. He died in Maryville August 30, aged 83 years and five days.
He was married May 30, 1900 to Nellie Mae Henson. To them two children were born, George Cordell and Mrs. Herman Thompson, both of Quitman.
He is survived by his wife and two children; one sister, Mrs. W.H. Lawrence of Lewiston, Idaho; and five grandchildren.
