McGARITY, BillyOur loving father and friend died unexpectedly of a heart attack on December 19, 2005. Bill was born on March 29, 1947 in Sacramento and remained in the Sacramento area his entire 58 years. Bill was a sheet metal supervisor for more than 35 years and was the designated "CAN DO" company man far Beutler Heating and Air Corporation. Bill began building custom cars and street rods when he was 12 years old and perfected his skills on his own cars as well as those belonging to many friends. He was influential in teaching those skills to dozens of "apprentices". He logged thousands of miles crusin' with his friends from car clubs and other Harley riders throughout the West Coast. Bill is remembered for never knowing a stranger and his ability to always be there whenever his help was needed. In 1986 he created "Bill's Garage and Pepsi Bar" in their backyard. Bill was divorced from Donna McCoy and leaves behind his children Bill Jr., Brad (Drina), Grandchildren Zack (Sara), Mercedes and Breanna, Great grandsons Cody, Aaron, Matthew and Brandon, his brother Buddy(Joy)and Sister Betty Carol McGarity-Kiernan. Bill's mother Mary "Margie Willock-McGarity passed May 7 1999 and father Bud McGarity June 12,1999. The family is inviting family and friends for a celebration of Bill's life on December 27th, at 1:00pm at Lion's Gate Hotel Grand Ballroom in McClellan Park, North Highlands. Bill's Harley buddies will gather at Sacramento Harley Davidson parking lot on Arden Way for a ride in Bill's honor at 12:00 Noon that day. His custom and street rod friends are encouraged to bring their rides to the Lion's Gate service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to "Make A Wish Foundation".
