Dorothy V. Oltman, 96, of New London, Mo. formerly of Hannibal, Mo. passed away at 9:30 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Bro. Greg Maize and Bro. Joe Thrower will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.

Dorothy was born January 15, 1918 in De Queen, Ar. the daughter of James T. and Dexter M. (Allen) Cross. She married John Herman Oltman on February 8, 1935 in Hannibal, Mo. and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2006.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy E. Charlton of Hannibal, Mo. and Janet S. Hoyt and husband Mike of New London, Mo; five grandchildren, Roger Winningham, Steven Charlton, Lana Mullis, Laura Wright and Kevin Wieman; eighteen great grandchildren, twenty one great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to both her parents and her husband Mrs. Oltman is preceded in by one brother, James T. Cross, one son-in-law, John R. Charlton, three grandchildren, John A. Charlton, Dennis Winningham, Lisa Wieman; one great grandson, Jesse Mullis: and one great-great grandson Tyler Allen Thompson.

Dorothy was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church for 88 years. She was an active member of the Ladies Sunday School Class where served as Secretary for the primary department for 65 years. On May 1, 2011 she was awarded as the oldest living member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. Dorothy also was a member of Woman on Mission Day Circle and past member of the VFW. Mrs. Oltman work at International Shoe Factory and later at Rival Manufacturing. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading her Bible, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Troy Wieman, Tyler Wieman, Dexter Winningham, Steven Charlton, Ralph Brandon Mullis and Thomas Mc Clintock.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Prince Avenue Baptist Church, in care of Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
