Elaine was born June 15, 1952 in Lebanon, Tennessee, to Kenneth and Ruth Vaught Futrell. At the age of 9 doctors discovered she had scoliosis and at age 12 she had her first of two major back surgeries, one of which she was bed ridden for a full year. At age 14 she had to learn to walk again. While bedridden, she started drawing and that began a life of many artistic talents. She also had a love for animals and as a young child she wanted to keep every stray that came around. Later in life she owned her own craft shop, selling different crafts and even teaching others how to paint. She also worked other jobs, Sweet Pea in Grand Rivers where she made life-long friends and painted arts and crafts, and Trees and Trends where she did floral arrangements and learned how to frame pictures, which she later opened her own frame shop after Trees and Trends closed theirs. She also did custom cabinets with her first husband and she did all of the finish work-such as sanding, staining, and varnishing. She also painted on furniture, clothing; she could paint anything onto anything you could imagine. She painted on thimbles, saws, you name it and she could do it. She could make any flower arrangement and did so for her daughters proms and weddings and grandchildren's proms as well. Elaine was a talented cake decorator. She had an eye that could turn any picture or thought into her personal creation. She was a member of the Pathway Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Bebout Baker and her husband Clint of Gilbertsville, KY; her son, Shawn and wife Cindy of Calvert City, KY; her mother, Ruth Vaught Futrell of Gilbertsville, KY; one sister, Teresa Johnston and her husband Rick of Benton, KY; a son-in-law, Rusty Reynolds of Murray, KY; six grandchildren, Hunter Bebout, Mattie Bebout, Brittany Reynolds, Desiree Reynolds, Alyssa Springs and Whitney Springs; one great grandchild, Avery Taylor; and one nephew, Andrew Johnston.
Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Misty Bebout Reynolds and her father, Kenneth Futrell.
