Sami Demirelli
1927-2014
Sami Demirelli, 86, of Boise passed away peacefully to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his wife Doris on April 13, 2014, surrounded by his loving family and the caring staff at Willow Park Syringa.
Son of Ali and Feride Demirelli, he was raised in Ankara, Turkey. After serving 2 years in the Turkish military, he completed his university education in Turkey. He then moved to the U.S. at age 25 with a scholarship to further his education. Sami met his wife Doris in Carmel, CA in 1955 and they married in 1956. Sami finished his education at San Jose State and taught junior high school math for over 30 years in Sunnyvale, CA before retiring to Boise in 1991 to be near family. He will remembered for his love of the outdoors, his dedication to his grandchildren's soccer and musical pursuits, and his unconditional love.
Sami is survived by his children Doug Demirelli, Kathy Schisel, Larry Demirelli and his wife Carrie Demirelli; his grandchildren, Jake, Luke, and John Schisel, and Emmett, Wyatt, and Christie Demirelli; his great grandchildren, Draelix, Ayaniah, and Phoenix Schisel.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Dry Creek Cemetery, Boise, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 3:00 pm.
