A. Howard Smith Dexter 83. Formerly of Presque Isle. Died 7-30-1973 in Dexter. He was born in Presque Isle 7-30-1890 the son of Aubrey and Evie (Howard) Smith. He lived in Presque Isle for 75 years attending the local schools, Worcester Academy and the Bryant and Stratton Business College. He was the owner and operator of A.M. Smith Co., a family hardware business until his retirement in 1960. He was a honorary director of the Northern National Bank of Presque Isle, a member of Trinity Masonic Lodge of Presque Isle and a life member of Anah Temple Shrine. He is survived by his wife, Evangeline (Redman) Smith of Dexter, a son, Aubrey Smith of Presque Isle. a daughter Mrs. Laura Bilderback of Santa Ana, CA., a step son George Abbott of Dexter, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Thomas (Imogene) Tillson of Dexter, several grandchildren and nephews. Burial Fairmount cemetery.
