Service for Frank F. Shuler Sr., 83, of 829 Sherman Ave., lifelong Janesville resident who died Tuesday, are at 1;30 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery...

Mr. Shuler served in World War I with the US Air Corps at Love Field, Dallas, Tex., from 1917 to 1919. Following his discharge he was employed at Samson Tractor Co. from June 19, 1919, until moving to Chevrolet when it took over the Samson plant Nov. 2, 1922. He was promoted to supervisory staff April 1, 1923, as assembly line foreman and was foreman of the Chevrolet assembly line at Chicago Century of Progress in 1933. He was named general foreman of assembly in 1937.

During the war years from April 1, 1942, to Sept. 16, 1945, he was superintendent of shell production for Oldsmobile when that GM division operated the Fisher Body plant here.

When Chevrolet returned to car production in 1945 Mr. Shuler was named day shift general foreman of assembly until becoming divisional superintendent April 16, 1946. He was for many years one of the coaches of boys entering the annual Soap Box Derbies held here and in the area.

Mr. Shuler was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Men's Club; Odd Fellow's Lodge No. 90; past patron of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 69; past master of Masonic Lodge No. 55; member of RAM Lodge No.5, Gebel Council RSM No.2, Zion White Shrine and Milwaukee Valley Consistory; and a member of American Legion Post 205 and Rock County Barrack No. 2314, World War I Veterans.

He was born May 10, 1891, in Janesville and was married to Ruth Kothman April 26, 1922, in Milwaukee.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Vincent, Kenosha, and Dr. Frank F. Shuler, Clinton village president, and Dr. Carl Shuler, partners in a dental clinic at Clinton; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother. Stephen, Janesville.
