A memorial service will be 2PM Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Sebeniecher officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be followed by internment at a later date in Franklin, TN. Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. She was born June 15, 1917, in Fallston, MD, to George Trainor and Marian Read Standiford Archer. She married Boyd Ridley Critz, Jr., Oct. 9, 1937, in Chester, VA.
She moved to Clinton in 1941 and worked with the American Red Cross making bandages for the war effort. She was a 40-year member of Agatha Auxiliary to Jane Lamb Hospital, serving as its president and board representative. She also served as chairman of the gift shop at Jane Lamb. She was a member of the Gateway YWCA board, a 46-year member of P.E.O. JW Chapter, a Sunday school teacher, and a den leader for Cub Scouts. She was chosen as a Woman of Action by the YWCA in 1975.
Survivors include two sons, Boyd Ridley Critz III of Peoria, IL, and Trainor Archer Critz of Newark, DE; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Archer Ratzenberger of Fairfax, VA. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson.
