Schmidt, Gerald E.

Gerald E. Schmidt, age 83, of 10114 Meadow Drive, Two Rivers, died on Friday morning, March 7, 2014, at the Harmony House of Two Rivers.

Gerald was born June 4, 1930, in Two Rivers, son of the late Roy and Minnie (Radzinske) Schmidt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. Gerald farmed in the town of Two Rivers his entire life. He enjoyed sharing local history of the area.

Survivors include one son: Russ Schmidt, Green Bay; two daughters and one son-in-law: Rita Lorrigan and Ruth Ann and Darrell Meier, all of Two Rivers; mother of his children: Helen Schmidt, Two Rivers; two grandchildren: A.J. Lorrigan (fiancee Lisa Lallensack), Matt Meier, all of Two Rivers; one sister: Florence Oblender, Essexville, MI; one nephew: Rev. Wayne (Betsy) Oblender and family, Aurora, NE; and one niece: Lisa (Todd) Kukla and family, Essexville, MI.

Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: George Oblender.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Our Savior Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Luke Tembreull. Burial will be at Knollwood Cemetery at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gerald's name to Manitowoc Lutheran High School or Our Savior Ev. Lutheran Church.
