John Harrison Platt, 73, formerly of 2470 North Second St., Milwaukee, died of a coronary attack at 5 pm. Tuesday at St. Mary Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Home Chapel, the Rev. Casimir Stec, OFM, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery .
Mr. Platt was born Oct. 28, 1889, at Milwaukee, son of the late John and Victoria Patrykus Platt. As a boy he resided at the old St. Mary Orphanage, Manitowoc, and went to Milwaukee as a young man where he operated a news stand until retirement, returning to St. Mary Home May 13, 1961.
An ardent sports fan, he was a follower of the Milwaukee Braves.
Friends may call at St. Mary Home after 3 p.m. Thursday.
