Lorraine E. Krouse, age 97, a Shady Lane resident in Manitowoc, passed away on February 12, 2014. Lorraine, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Henschel) Boeldt, was born March 3, 1916 in Sheboygan County. On March 30, 1937, she married Hilmer K. Krouse. Hilmer preceded her in death in 1979.
Lorraine was a stay-at-home mom until her children started school. She then began working at Schuette Bros. grocery and then moved to the ready-to-wear department. She retired from Schuette Bros. at the age of 78. After Lorraine's retirement, she kept busy traveling, reading and shopping.
She is survived by her daughters: Sandra Rogness (James), Barbara Wallace and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Krouse. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Roger L. Krouse, her son-in-law William Wallace (Barbara); her three brothers Lester, Wilbert and Karl Boeldt, her sister and brother-in-law Leona and Paul Voss, sister-in-law Gladys and her husband Al Dembski, and brother-in-law Lester Krouse.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc.
