ERWIN A. ROSINSKY
(1920 - 2010)

Erwin ""Erv"" Andrew Rosinsky, 89, Green Bay, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010.

He was born April 26, 1920, in Manitowoc to Frank and Mary (Burry) Rosinsky. Erv lost his mother shortly after birth, and his father could not take care of him or his twin brother, Marvin, so Erwin was placed in St. Joseph's Orphanage, where he spent most of his youth. In 1942, Erv joined the U.S. Army and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He served in a numerous positions, but was most proud of being a medic. He was wounded in combat, but refused to accept the Purple Heart offered to him because he felt that his wound was not as deserving of the medal as the wounds of the other men that he had served with.

Survivors include his twin brother Marvin's wife, Arlette Rozanski; two nephews, Terry Rozanski, Randy Rozanski; three great-nephews, James Wilson, Robert Rosinsky, Daniel Rosinsky; one great-niece, Sandy Wilson; close friends, Aloha Haefs, Fritz Rocheleau and his family. He was preceded in death early in life by his parents and sisters, and more recently by his twin brother, Marvin Rozanski; older brother, Joseph Rosinsky; sister-in-law, Hilda Rosinsky; nephew, Joseph Rosinsky Jr. and niece, Mary Wilson.

Friends may call from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Erwin's family extends a special thank you to the staff at Golden Living Center and the Asera Care staff, especially his nurse, Tammy Fox and Chaplain Mike Williams.
