(1873 - 1952)

Edward F. Rugowski, 78, retired foundry worker, died Wednesday night at Fairhill Convalescent Home, Maribel, where he had resided for a year.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. John Landowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

Mr. Rugowski, who served a term as alderman in Manitowoc at the turn of the century under Mayor William Rahr, was born in Manitowoc Oct. 11, 1873, and always resided in the city. In 1897 he married the former Catherine O'Konski of Kewaunee who died in 1933. Ten years ago he retired as a foundryman and for 19 years prior to entering the convalescent home he made his home with a son, Louis, of Rt. 5, Manitowoc.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James Beamish of Ohio; three sons, Henry of Ohio, Louis of Rt. 5, Manitowoc, and Edward Jr., of Manitowoc; two brothers, Walter of Minnesota and Joseph of Manitowoc; four sisters, Sister Hortense of Holy Family Convent at Alverno, Mrs. James Harbour of Michigan, Mrs. James Edenburn of Texas and Mrs. Walter Mrotek of Washington; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
