OBITUARY

Norbert F. Brylski

Two Rivers - Norbert Florian Brylski, age 93, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Monday, January 22, 2018.

He was born on May 19, 1924 in Pulaski, Wisconsin to August and Angeline (Kasprzyk) Brylski. He attended Assumption BVM grade school in Pulaski and St. Bonaventure High School in Sturtevant, WI. Soon after graduation in 1942, he enlisted in the US Army and served with the Army Signal Corps during WWII in England and Norway.

After the war he began a printing apprenticeship at the Franciscan Monastery in Pulaski and eventually opened his own print shop. When the print shop proved less than lucrative, he took that printing knowledge with him to the Hamilton Mfg Co. in Two Rivers where he worked in the wood type shop the entirety of his Hamilton career.

He married Irene Laura Socha in 1952 at St. Casimir's in Krakow, WI. Their union produced 13 kids. She preceded him in death in 2005.

Norbert loved sports of all sorts especially the Packers, Badgers, Bucks, and the Chicago White Sox. He loved his solitary drives out west, Rachel Maddow was his girlfriend, and his computer provided never-ending sources of amusement such as solitaire, music, online stock trading, and connections via Skype and Facebook to the world at large. He also loved when his family came to visit but was always happy when they went away. After retirement, he was a longtime volunteer at Peter's Pantry in Manitowoc and the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum in Two Rivers where he found this mysterious group of type nerds who were totally awed by his wood type making expertise.

Norbert is survived by all thirteen of his children: Mark (Kathy), Madison WI; Michael, Milwaukee WI; Gregory, Seattle WA; Christopher (Jane), Star Prairie WI; Georgianne (Peter) Liesch, Sheboygan Falls WI; Benedict, Milwaukee WI; Norene, Two Rivers WI; Gerald (Sandy), Apple Valley MN; Mary, University Place WA; William, Wausau WI; Roberta (Dale) Marcelle, Two Rivers WI; Thomas, Clark Fork ID; Julianne (Scott) Warner, North Bend WA. He is further survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his brother Robert Ferdinand, Green Bay, WI, his sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Howie Maney, Milwaukee/Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mark, eight sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau, assisted by Deacon Paul Gleichner. Burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers at a later date. Military graveside rites will be accorded at the church immediately following the mass by members of VFW Post #1248 and American Legion Post # 165 of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
