It is with great sadness that we as a family announce the passing of James RUSSELL Hazzard of Sombra Twnsp on February 24, 2013 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (Houle) Hazzard. Loving father of: Patricia (John Goodwin, d. 1996) (Gerald) Waring; Elaine (Alvin) Ikert; Jim (Anne) Hazzard; David (Stacey) Hazzard; Merle (Shelly) Hazzard; Sandra (Perry) Routley; Mark (Valarie) Hazzard; Ruth (Todd) Manuel; Paul (Janet) Hazzard; Betty Green; Stephen (Lisa) Hazzard; Janice (Jon) Zinck. Dear grandfather of 34 grandchildren (15 of whom are married), and 36 great grandchildren (and four yet unborn). Son of late Donald and Mary (Horley) Hazzard. Brother of Robert Hazzard (late Jean); Leroy Hazzard (Lila), Kenneth Hazzard (Laurine) and the late Jack Hazzard (late Dana); late Richard Hazzard (Jean) and late Phyllis Brush (late Bernard). Son-in-law of late Wilfred and Alice (Butterman) Houle. Brother-in-law of Arthur (Mary Lou) Houle; Ann (late George) Douglas; late Bob (Mary) Houle. Fondly remembered uncle of many nieces and nephews. He served proudly during the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Navy on the HMCS Uganda. Founder of Hazzard's Farm Service and subsequently related business ventures. He was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church for many years, a member of Gideons International and involved in many Christian ministries in Canada and around the world. Most importantly, he was a devout Christian and had a love for His Heavenly Father and earthly family that surpasses death and lives on in our hearts.
