JOHNSON – Glenn Harvey Love, 97, passed away April 20, 2014. He was born Aug. 7, 1916, near Partridge, the son of Robert "Roy" Harvey and Lora Winifred Anderson Love.
He was a 1934 graduate of Partridge High School, then farmed several years south of Partridge. Later he went to school at Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, graduating in 1948. In Kansas, he taught high school at Burdick and then Thayer. On Oct. 10, 1954, he married Viola Elizabeth Beauchamp at Emporia. They moved to south Texas where Glenn taught 6th grade at LaFeria, Texas, for 25 years, retiring in 1982. There, Glenn and his wife raised their three sons. After retirement they moved to Johnson, Kan. He is survived by: their three sons, Fred of Johnson, Bill and his wife Gayle of Madison, Wis., Dave of Johnson; a nephew, Tim Haney and wife Leslie of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and a niece, Rebecca Seeley and husband Harold of Battle Ground, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Norma Jean Haney.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Partridge Community Church, with Reverend R. Samuel Askew presiding. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
