Karen Sirnic and her husband Rev. Norman "Skip" Sirnic were bludgeoned to death in their sleep by the infamous railway serial killer Angel Maturino Resendiz with a sledgehammer stolen from their garage. Resendiz was later captured and executed in Huntsville, Texas in 2006.
