Born June 23, 1944 in Tucson, AZ to Donald and Marian (Fleschner) Morris, he married Sandra Hoose on February 20, 1962 in Terre Haute, IN. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Becky (Randy) Branstetter and Susan (Jeff) Forquer, both of Creve Coeur; two sons, Ron (Gail) Morris of Pekin, Donald Morris, Jr. of Creve Coeur; seven grandchildren; 5 great-granddaughters; two sisters, Carol (Jerry) Deal of Bowling Green, IN, Pattie (Brian) Oughton of Fishersville, VA; one brother, Russell (Donna) Morris of Tampa, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Morris on December 4, 2008 in Peoria and one brother, Bill.
Don had worked for the Peoria Civic Center as a millwright for the last 20 years. He had previously worked 19 years for Continental Grain in Bartonville until its closing.
He was a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center 916; the Carpenter's Local Union #237 in East Peoria and the East Peoria Boat Club.
Don loved being with family and friends. He also enjoyed boating, traveling, fishing and pheasant hunting.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow immediately at the East Peoria Boat Club.
