Services for Mrs. Alice M. Shope, 85, Walton, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Thomas-Murray funeral home, Galveston. She died Saturday morning at Memorial Hospital, Logansport. Born Jan. 31, 1890, in Cass County, she was the daughter of John and Amanda Chatfield Eckley. She was married Feb. 26, 1908, to Delbert L. Shope, who survives. A lifetime resident of Cass County, she was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Surviving with the husband are four daughters Mrs. Lucille Carson, Margate Fla.; Mrs. Doris Tyre, Peru; Mrs. Beulah Allen, Walton; and Mrs. Dorothy Rush, Logansport; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. The Reverends Ora Myers and William Simpson will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Galveston Cemetery.
