George was diagnosed with Stage Three Multiple Myeloma in July 2005. He began treatment immediately and received his first stem cell transplant in October of 2005. He was in remission for three years and began treatments again in December 2008. He walked our daughter down the aisle on her wedding day in 2009 with a great smile despite his treatments. He received his second stem cell transplant in March 2012. He was so thrilled to be home and feeling better to welcome the birth of our grandson. George developed a brain abscess in November 2013 and went to his heavenly home on April 21, 2014. He has donated his body to science in the hope that information can be learned to help other people. If you would like to help find a cure for Myeloma, please consider making a donation in his name. He encouraged others to register to become a donor for bone marrow, stem cells, and blood at bethematch.org.
